INDIANAPOLIS, IND. Indianapolis area hotels and restaurants are joining forces for a relief drive on behalf of the victims of the Haiti earthquake. Our employees, managers and owners will gather on Monument Circle, Friday, January 29th during peak hours to collect donations. The Red Cross has partnered with the organizations and have provided the collections canisters that can be found in many local hotels and restaurants. 100% of the funds collected will be used directly towards the Haiti earthquake victims.

Collection hours on Monument Circle are:
7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Volunteers include employees from local hotels and restaurants who are donating their time to help in the collection drive. The project was initiated by the CARE committee at the Hilton Hotel Downtown. Jeff Sweet, Hilton General Manager said Given the shear volume of people that have been affected, everyone helping is needed. Sweet also serves as President of the Greater Indianapolis Hotel & Lodging Association.

The hospitality industry is known for coming together in times of tragedy. Volunteers on Monument Circle this Friday will include Bob Gatto from Texas Roadhouse who recently suffered a tragedy of his own when his restaurant on the Indianapolis eastside burned.

Area hotels and restaurants wanting to participate should contact organizers at 317.673.4204 or 673.4211.
