| Indiana's School-To-Career Programs For the Hospitality Industry |
| |
| The Indiana Restaurant Association and the Indiana Hotel & Lodging Association have partnered with the Hospitality Business Alliance to establish a School-To-Career program for Indiana’s hospitality industry. Our goal is to prepare high school students for top-wage, high-skill careers in the hospitality industry while at the same time providing a viable workforce for industry employers.

| About the School-To-Career Program |
| |
The lodging and the foodservice industries have each assembled a comprehensive curriculum for students to learn about their chosen field of business. Students receive classroom instruction (up to 400 hours) and find on-the-job experience (minimum of 400 hours with pay) in all aspects of the business segment they choose to study. A mentor will be assigned to each student to support on-the-job internships. An academic certificate will be presented upon completion of the two-year plan of work. Also, students may qualify for educational credits and various scholarships at postsecondary institutions, particularly those offering hospitality majors. |

| About Our Schools |
| |
More than 550 students across the state have committed to exploring and learning the hospitality industry while in high school. Further, we are working with an innovative concept to establish a "Hospitality Academy" which will pair a school and a worksite to offer a comprehensive and total learning experience for the student. |
